SShe was our biggest fan, our cheerleader, a rock and source of comfort. Her spirituality moved everyone around her. She was the beautiful flowers in spring, the bright shiny sun in summer, the cool night breezes of fall and the festive joy of winter. She was all of these things and more. We are better because of her and know she is watching over us and protecting us from heaven.

Rose Farha Nunu 2012

Rose Farha Nunu, a long time Pasadena resident, departed this life on March 6, 2012. A person of great warmth and generosity, she was always ahead of her time. Rose’s Lebanese immigrant parents instilled in her the values that guided her life both professionally and personally. Her devout faith in God and love of family were the driving forces in all she did. She was among the vanguard of women who entered the insurance industry when it was virtually an all-male profession, and she excelled over the decades as an agent with MetLife, including qualifying 15 times for the Leaders Conference and being a member of the Texas Women’s Leaders Roundtable. She was a recipient of the Woman of Excellence award from the Federation of Houston Professional Women and Soroptimist International of Pasadena. While she participated in many professional and social organizations, she had a special place in her heart for the Soroptimist International of Pasadena, the Ladies Charity Club, and the Southern Federation of Syrian-Lebanese American Clubs for which she was recognized as the “Official” photographer. She was known throughout the community as the “fastest camera in the west.” Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.
